An Afternoon of Science

I took the girls back to the science centre today. They had a De Vinci exhibit that was really interesting but unfortunately we were not allowed to take pictures. It had many examples of his ideas and inventions. He was a genius. I didn't know that he had made drawings of many modern machines such as cars, artillary tanks, machine guns as well as flying machines. They also had a breakdown of some of the special features of the Mona Lisa.

Very educational and I was surprised how much the kids were interested. We also went to an exhibit called body works. We didn't too much time at it last time. At the back, there was this big section on reproduction. I had to chuckle because they had warning signs. Vanessa got into this video game where the object of the game was to guide the sperm all the way to the egg. She totally does not understand the real concept of it but put it in a video game and she was hooked. I had to basically drag her away from it. Lots of fun.

Heather also got to see how long the human intestines are.

The creepiest thing had to be the aging machine. It showed you what you could look like when you are older. Heather's was at age 70 and Vanessa's was age 60. Scary looking if you ask me.

At the end of our visit, the girls each bought an unopened geode so hopefully they will get a chance to crack it open tomorrow and see what is inside.
