Trestle Walk

The girls and I went to visit Mom and Dave this weekend. Mom, the girls and I went to the canyon that caught on fire in 2003 and has since had all its railway trestles replaced. It was a great walk walking on the trestles and going through the tunnel. The weather couldn't make up its mind what it wanted to do. We were in the tunnel when it started to rain but we waited it out and it cleared up for the walk back to the car. It then started to thunder and poured rain on the drive back down the mountain. The girls enjoyed their visit to Grandma's but had to do their music homework before heading home.

Kilby Children's Festival

The end of August also is marked by the Kilby Hisotic Site Children's Festival. The girls had lots of fun with sack races, croquet, face painting, feeding the animals, climbing the firetruck, and Heather got to participate in one of the entertainment shows. We got to pick apples and pears from their orchard and they were so yummy. We fed the cores to the pigs so they got a treat too. We love this place!

Last Few Days of Summer

I have not blogged in a while because school has started up again so I am behind on everything.
The last week before school started I took the girls to Dinotown. I remember my mom taking me there once when I was little and it was still called the Flintstones at the time. It really has not changed that much. They still have a lot of the original buildings, bumper cars and canoes. The girls enjoyed themselves but I don't think they will be back until they have kids of their own. Who knows, they might still have the same stuff when they go too.
