Our Winter Olympic Experience

We went to the Vancouver 2010 Winter Olympics last night. It was amazing. Everyone was in a great mood and so friendly. There were police all over the streets from all parts of Canada. Lots of people from different countries. The girls were wide eyed and loved most of the ceremonies.Vanessa had a little nap when the athletes came in as that took over an hour. She also didn't like having to wear a light blue over sized poncho that every audience member had to wear. So much color with all the presentations. I loved all of the presentations but I especially liked the performances by KD Lang and Sarah McLaughlan. It was hard to pay attention to the show and as an audience participate in some of the drumming, flashlight waving and candle holding. We received a nice souvenir pack. Heather brought her Maplelea doll Taryn to also watch the presentation. We all stood up and pounded our drums for the Georgian team as they lost a luge participant that morning. I have heard they have since shortened the track to slow it down 10 km/h. Transit was really easy and there was not long waits at all. Well organized. Enjoy the pictures and videos. The pictures can be blown up by just clicking on them and also just click on the triangle for the videos and let me know if you can't view them as I had some problems with the last ones posted.
It was an amazing once in a lifetime experience. Uncle Bryan and Sarah. You should definitely try to go to the ones in London. What a spectacle!
