Lake Fun

At the local lake enjoying the sun, a swim and a barbeque. Heather had kayaking so we made an evening of it.

Ribbit!

Vanessa loves the yard and what she finds hanging around. This is her latest find. There are actually two that live in our pond along with a few hundred tadpoles at various stages throughout the year.

A Day at Port Townsend

I found a Victorian Parlour Set that I had been looking over a year for. It was on the Olympic Penninsula in Washington State. The girls and I made a day of it to go down and pick it up. We had to drive a couple hours and then take a ferry over to the town. What a fun place to walk around and look at the amazing old Victorian buildings. I had no idea that this place was like this. We stopped at a few places along the way and got buzzed by some fighter jets from the nearby naval base. I wish we had more time to look around and stay for a bit. Another trip will be necessary.

Beach Day!!!

Todd and I decided to take Vanessa to the beach. It has been over a decade since going to this ocean beach. Vanessa enjoyed the salt water for a change and collecting shells. Beautiful day and wonderful beach with a lot of action on the water.

Vanessa had a lot of fun in her class but I think she had more fun when it was all over. Watch the short video clips and you will understand.

Carousel and Lego Fun

Since Heather was off to Disneyland, I decided to take Vanessa to a couple of fun things the day Heather left. The first Lego store in the country opened and so we went to go see that. Vanessa got to pick out one thing and decided on the the new Monster Fighters Ghost Train which has pieces that glows in the dark. Pretty cool. We then stopped off at a carousel and had a couple rides. She had a lot of fun.

Heather's First Big Trip Away

Heather went to Disneyland with her highland dance group. She had to keep track of her own passport, meals and money for all six days that she was away. She was really nervous but did very well. She was in good hands too, which helps. She came back with a suitcase full of stuffed animals and 37 dollars to her name. I was surprised that she only took 17 photos over those six days but I am sure she will increase that as she gets older. She danced once in Disneyland and once at California Adventure. She also took a dance workshop on expression in Disneyland. They were kept quite busy and took in a lot of the rides. Vanessa missed Heather and counted down the days she was coming back. Vanessa got her own special day.
