On our last full day in New York City, we decided to take a Circle Tour of Manhattan Island. We travelled on three rivers: the East River, Harlem River and the Hudson River. We started at the Intrepid Military Museum which is an old aircraft carrier. This was very close to where the pilot safely put down the plane in the Hudson River a few years ago.

The wharfs are not in use anymore because there is no room for container shipping on the island so this is a unique way to reuse the wharf: A driving range!

The World Trade Centre. The twin towers would have been in this skyline at the top of the picture.

Staten Island Ferry Leaves from here.

The famous Brooklyn Bridge. We travelled under many bridges on our tour.

United Nations Building

At one point, we were told we might not be able to go up to the Bronx because of the tides. The tide was low enough that we had about one foot clearance.

Old Yankee Stadium

Right beside the old is the new Yankee Stadium

There is a famous children's book called the "The Little Red Lighthouse and the Great Gray Bridge" This is the George Washington Bridge on the Hudson River.

The Concorde at the Intrepid Museum

Lucky Strike Bowling

Last dinner in New York: Ruby Foos. Vanessa had rolls of peanut butter and jelly

The TKS stairs right in front of our hotel

These were the doormen that Heather and Vanessa made friends with. True New Yorkers!
