Dancing at the Fair

Heather danced at the PNE again this year. We had some familiar people pop by to watch the dancing. They are long long time family friends. It is always nice to see them come out and support the dance school.

Girl Fun

The girls dress up in matching outfits with their dolls and enjoyed the summer sun. Too cute.

Afternoon at the Pub Listening to "Chunes"

My dad plays accordian at a local restaurant pub in White Rock on Sunday afternoon. It is an Irish pub and he plays with a variety of musicians. We finally took an afternoon to go down and see him play. Today it was a duet as there were many away. They played steady for about three hours. The girls and I had an early supper and listened to Dad play and sing some "chunes". I tease him about that Scottish accent that comes out more often than not now. He took a request of "Donkey Riding" from Vanessa. Vanessa took the shots of Dad playing which might explain the blurriness (she was not drinking Guinness). We went for gelato after his gig was up and sat by the water. Great Afternoon. Thanks Dad!

Sleepover Fun

Vanessa had her closest friend over for a sleepover without the big sisters. They helped me pick out two new rose bushes this morning and finished off with a nice tasty treat of cotton candy. Not sure if they had more enjoyment playing with it than eating it.

Kyenna picked out a nice piny orange one

Vanessa picked out a nice red and white striped rose

More Interesting Flowers

I am finally making some real progress on the weeding. One whole side of the front garden has been weeded and all that is left are the good plants. Yay!!! In my garden wandering, I have noticed some more interesting flowers.
I love that this flower is partly green

Looks Like Chicken

Well it won't taste like chicken for a while but I must admit I am getting impatient waiting for these eggs to materialize. They are definitely maturing as two of them have their bright red combs and waddles. I look everyday for eggs but nothing yet. Yesterday evening, Vanessa had locked them out of their coop. Heather was in the basement watching television and came up to tell me the chickens were acting weird. She said that they had climbed up on stuff under the deck and were staring at her through the window. They definitely let us know when something is wrong. Hagrid was missing when we went out there but found her on the coops roof. She let me pick her up and place her in the coop with not much-to-do.  The cat was out earlier this week and when the chickens and Meeko discovered each other, it was quite the ruckus. Meeko didn't know what to do but the chickens let it known that there was a beast among them and I am sure they could be heard a block away. Meeko high tailed it back into the house and has not wanted to go out since. Needless to say, I am wanting some eggs soon. It has been a long wait.

Two Seasons of Trader Joes

I don't know if they do this on a regular basis as I have not been a regular but we got a spring picture of the girls earlier this year in front of Trader Joes and again just yesterday I took a summer one. Quite funny and I hope it continues. It was a very hot day yesterday; well over 90 degrees F (30 celsius). We quite enjoyed our purchase when we got home.
