It's Cold Outside

We had a cold snap the lasted few weeks in January. It was so cold.....
that I was able to skate on our pond
that the snow stayed on the ground for over three weeks
that Todd could impress us with his 3 inch thick ice block he pulled out of the pond when the ice finally broke apart

Christmas Morning

Santa came without a hitch but he was kind of messy this year. He left his fingerprints on the fireplace doors and soot on the ember pad. I guess he was in a hurry. Even Jigs and Meeko were thought of on Christmas. Jigs got a nice green toothbrush treat that was gone in less than five minutes. Cat was disinterested completely.
A very funny story: Heather was looking through her stocking checking out her new horse grooming box and crop. The next thing we knew, she got up and ran out the front door. It took us a while but we finally realized that she ran outside to look for a horse. She came back disappointed and I had to explain that just because the Easter Bunny brought chickens does not mean that Santa brought a horse. She got over it pretty quick.
