Charlie Brown Christmas Musical Theatre Class

Vanessa took another musical theatre class and this time they did a Charlie Brown Christmas. Vanessa was Snoopy. She had a lot of fun and we saw a great improvement in her performance.

A Visit with Ginny

We went to the farm where we sent Ginny, our rooster. He is looking lovely and has beautiful green feathers on his tail. He is one happy guy and well taken care of. While we were there, we saw two very large pigs named Ava and Arnold. Elaine also showed us the Coho salmon spawning in their creek. That was really interesting to watch. There was a lot of roe in the water and quite a few fish trying to make their way up.

First Gift of Christmas

This year Hallmark did not have much of an interesting selection of ornaments for the first gift of Christmas so we changed it up. The girls got Christmas shirts for family photo day and then we let the girls go shopping for us. Vanessa picked out my ornament and Heather picked out Todd's car freshener and hand warmers.

Poor Fleur

We took a bunch of trees down in the yard. We were working with the neighbors. Their dog spotted the chickens in our yard and gave chase. Unfortunately, the dog got a hold of Fleur and killed her. The girls were really sad and we gave her a brief send off down by the river. We left her for the eagles. We did not want to bury her in the yard in case it attracted other wildlife. Very sad. Vanessa commemorated Fleur by creating a Lego model of her. The week before we had put leaves in the run to entertain them. Fleur had a great time flicking the leaves as you can see in the video.

Medal Tests

Heather took more Canadian Medal Tests. She took the Bronze Highland, Lilt and Flora. She passed all of her tests.

Bazaar Times

Heather's Dance Group has their annual bazaar every November. This year we made a few different sweets to sell. Fudge, cookies and marshmallows as well as these interesting "Popcones". Yum. Heather did well at her dancing too.

Dragons, Dragons and More Dragons

Vanessa's class did a unit on Dragons and now she is obsessed with them. I was so impressed by her drawing. She drew this by hand. She did not trace. I am amazed at what this six year old can do. She blows me away.
