Oktoberfest - Part 3 - Munich

A train trip from Amsterdam to Munich took seven hours. It didn't take them long to find the Festival and Large Beer Tents. It took them a while to find some Germans. Lots of Aussies.

Oktoberfest - Part 2 - Amsterdam

Todd and Brent rented bicycles and got lost travelling around Amsterdam. They finally found their way back but they burned a lot of the beer calories they consumed the day before.

Nice yard

Bike parkade. Todd helped a lady fish her bike out of the canal. There were a few more bikes in the water below hers.

Eggciting!!!!!!

We came back from our weekend on the island to find out that two chickens were laying eggs and later in the week we started to get three a day. I was collecting them until we had our first dozen and now we are having to eat a lot more eggs to keep up. They are very nice eggs.

Our First Dozen

The little off white one was a surprise. We found out it is Trelawney.
Lavender is on the mend. She survived the weekend we were away and is continuing to heal. She still has to be isolated until she completely heals. I peeked today at the wound and it is still quite damaged but she is actually starting to grow some feathers back too. She enjoys getting out and walking around the yard. She is not stepping on her other foot anymore.

I finally was able to start making some apple pies with the apples the girls and I picked. Heather helped by making the leaves. The apples are so good, I have had to cut down on the sugar I mix with the apples. Good excuse to eat pie for breakfast.

Clip Clop More Trot

Vanessa had a riding lesson today and she is trotting for longer durations and has advanced to the point that she can hold a reign in each hand instead of hanging on to the reigns in one and the front of the saddle in the other.

Island Regatta

The same weekend as Bob and Erin's wedding, Heather had a regatta. Thanks to Linda and Ivan for also making the trip. They looked after the girls while we were at the wedding on Saturday. Heather had a good time and it was a great learning experience. She struggled with the wind that she does not get on her own lake. She got Silver on Saturday in her age division K1-200 and on Sunday she got a fourth place in K1- 500. We were so happy to have Aunt Bev and Uncle Gerry come out and watch the racing as well.

It was so nice to see family come together for my cousin's wedding. It could not have been a more beautiful summer afternoon. Everything was so beautiful and it was fantastic to see everyone that was able to make it.
