Lunch Date

The girls and I had lunch at a local heritage candy shop. We had some lunch and then the girls got to pick out a few treats for the road. When we got home, we noticed that the cherries were ripe on our little tree. I love the color.

Hot Days = Pool Time

Got the water truck in today to fill the pool for the girls. It was up in minutes. The girls went in it but it was so cold. It won't take long to heat up if the weather continues to be so sunny.
I love the whirl pool that the big hose made in the pool for a few minutes after.

Bear Nose Marks

Bear was back at the chicken coop but this time Jigs chased it away. You can see the wet nose marks on the coop.

The Birthday Boy

Bear Bombardment Begins

He's back! I got a call from the neighbor that the bear was in their yard and heading our way. We went to the front of the house and low and behold. This emaciated bear was in our garden eating my weeds. It was so desperate for food that it was eating those dreaded horse tails. We were so close to him looking out the window. When he went around the side of the house, the neighbors dog ran into our yard and chased him into the bush. Good Girl Turbo!!!!!!

Bear Trashing

Unfortunately a bear has discovered the chicken coop. They were trying to go after the feed and did a number on the coop. Lots of repairs to be done. All the chickens made it because the bear was not big enough to get through the coop. Yikes!!!!

Regatta with Both Girls

Vanessa's lessons have ended with a regatta and both girls got to compete. I have never seen Heather paddle so fast. I think she was scared her little sister might beat her. It didn't happen much to the disappointment of Vanessa. Vanessa did not win as many ribbons as her sister so she didn't want her picture taken. Vanessa has decided that this is not her sport either. What are we going to do with her?????
