The Roadies - Part Three

Making their way back into BC, Todd and the girls stopped and camped at Radium Hot Springs. In Revelstoke, they went to a place called the Enchanted Forest. Lots of things to see there.

Argh!!!!!

Little Pig, Little Pig, Let me in!Not by the hair of my chinny chin chin

I question the enchantment of this place...a pillory..really?

The girls were tired of camping so Todd arrived a day early to Grandma Tutu's and Grandpa Dave's. They stayed there for the second week of my schooling. Thanks Mom and Dave for looking after them. Todd had to head home and go back to work.

The Roadies - Part Two

Todd and the girls made their way to Alberta. A little wildlife and amazing views. They stopped in Banff and at Calgary Olympic Park to checkout some activities and then headed for the dinosaurs! Roar!!!!
Honk if your horny!

Made it to the land of the Dinosaurs!

The girls enjoyed climbing up the giant dinosaur in the town and checking out the view from its mouth. It was warm so they also took a dip in the fountain and had fun at the water park.
The following day was spent at the Royal Tyrrell Musum of Paleontology in Drumheller. Museum walk about was done in the morning and the girls were signed up for programs in the afternoon. Heather did the Junior Dinosaur Explorers. Vanessa and Todd did the Dino Adventure Hour which looked like a lot of fun as you will see on the video. To end the afternoon, they all went for a hike on the Seven Wonders of the Badlands Tour. Todd got to eat rocks! He tried the popcorn rock. I think I would pass on that. The programs were an awesome experience and they learned a lot.

That ain't no chicken leg!

Holy Mammoths!!!A real dinosaur claw fossil!

These dinosaurs hitched a ride home back to BC!

The Roadies - Part One

Todd and the girls went on a vacation while I was in class doing my graduate studies work for two weeks. They travelled through eastern BC and Alberta. They stopped at the Hope Slide, Manning Park and Osoyoos. They made friends with the gophers at Manning and took a quick dip at Osoyoos. Their first stop for the night was the Old Cowboy Campground north of Rock Creek in Westbridge. They enjoyed the horses but not the pit toilets. It was a little wet and damp for the first part of their trip.

On their second day, they travelled through Midway, Mile 0 of the Kettle Valley Railway and Rossland Mines. The camped in Creston. There were a few Sasquatch Sightings!
The following day, they travelled to Fort Steele. Fort Steele is the only unfortified fort built by the Northwest Mounted Police in the 1880's under the command of Superintendent Sam Steele, the most famous Mountie in Canadian history. They built it unfortified so that they could make peace with the First Nations groups in the area by welcoming them in. The girls enjoys looking through all the exhibits, seeing all the sights and interacting with the historical characters at the fort.
Good thing this was a joke or the girls would make Todd bankrupt!

On the fourth day, the took a train ride at Fort Steele and then headed up to Panorama Mountain Resort for a couple nights. They did a lot of swimming, the putting course and exploring the mountain.
