The Roadies - Part One

Todd and the girls went on a vacation while I was in class doing my graduate studies work for two weeks. They travelled through eastern BC and Alberta. They stopped at the Hope Slide, Manning Park and Osoyoos. They made friends with the gophers at Manning and took a quick dip at Osoyoos. Their first stop for the night was the Old Cowboy Campground north of Rock Creek in Westbridge. They enjoyed the horses but not the pit toilets. It was a little wet and damp for the first part of their trip.

On their second day, they travelled through Midway, Mile 0 of the Kettle Valley Railway and Rossland Mines. The camped in Creston. There were a few Sasquatch Sightings!
The following day, they travelled to Fort Steele. Fort Steele is the only unfortified fort built by the Northwest Mounted Police in the 1880's under the command of Superintendent Sam Steele, the most famous Mountie in Canadian history. They built it unfortified so that they could make peace with the First Nations groups in the area by welcoming them in. The girls enjoys looking through all the exhibits, seeing all the sights and interacting with the historical characters at the fort.

Good thing this was a joke or the girls would make Todd bankrupt!

On the fourth day, the took a train ride at Fort Steele and then headed up to Panorama Mountain Resort for a couple nights. They did a lot of swimming, the putting course and exploring the mountain.

Kits Show Boat 2010

The girls both participated in the Kitsilano Showboat this year with the same recital routines as on June 12, 2010 but with the amazing backdrop of English Bay and the North Shore Mountains in the background. Heather also brought Taryn and dressed her in her Highland Outfit as well. Her friend has Alexi.

Old Car Sunday

Todd is slowly working on the truck and was able to drive it down and enter it into one of the biggest car shows in BC, Old Car Sunday, occurs every Father's Day. The girls had fun meeting up with some of their friends and hanging out in the back. Todd spent the day chatting with all kinds of people about the truck and its history. Thanks again Auntie Myrtle!

Heather's Class Play

Heather's Class did a big unit on the Three Little Pigs and they had to do a compare and contrast of three different versions of the Three Little Pigs. The class was broken down into three groups and each group reinacted a version of the story. They made all the sets and memorized their lines. Too bad my battery was running low so it is choppy :( The plays were very impressive and to top it all off, they were in French!

Piano Recital 2010

The girls had their year end piano recital. Their cousin, Delanie, was also playing at the recital. They all did very well considering they started just in September. The girls are both playing with two hands. The microphone was a distraction for Vanessa and she couldn't read the notes because it was blocking her view. She asked to replay. It was a lot of fun and again more video clips. They played two pieces each and there was also class rhythm and a final ensemble. Sorry I had issues with the camera as I kept forgeting I can't turn the camera vertical when taking video. You only have to turn your head to the side for a few seconds. HA HA!

Dance Recital 2010

Both Heather and Vanessa participated in the Dance Recital this year. Heather did two dances this year: a group dance and also the Highland Fling with a live piper. Enjoy the video links below. Vanessa's is so funny.
