More Kayaking

Heather continues to try new skills on the water. On this day, she is learning to kneel while kayaking. She shares the water with a lot of ducks and a fair amount of beavers.

Vanessa had a friend over for a sleepover. They had a great time finding tadpoles, frogs and salamanders in the pond. This is one of the largest salamanders I have ever seen in the pond. Vanessa showed off her chickens. She is really good at catching them and handling them. Within a couple hours of each other, both the girls had scraped the same knees on the driveway

Canoeing Lessons

Heather is also taking canoeing lessons as well as the kayak lessons. She likes the kayaking better. On this day, she tried canoeing on her knees. She said it was hard.

May Long Weekend

We went to a friend's cabin on Knouff Lake north of Kamloops. We tried our hand at fishing but no bites. We went to Sun Peaks to check it out and found a bear. Good times with friends and meeting new ones.

Country Fair Activities

This year the girls and I entered the local Country Fair Competition for crafts, photography, gardening and baking. We all did well and the girls both got a Best in Show for a category. Heather was a way for the week but completed a lot of projects before leaving.

Kayak Lessons

Heather is doing Kayak and Canoe lessons on the local lake, She picked it up quickly. Beautiful location.

Mother's Day

We went to Harrison for Mother's Day brunch with Todd's parents. Another beautiful day. The kids enjoyed the swings on the beach.

Chick Moving Day

The chick's coop finally arrived and was assembled. I have to say, I was so relieved as the smell was getting to me. They were very happy to have more room and be able to have the luxury of exploring the yard too.

We have wonderful neighbors who let the girls feed their ponies and horse. On this day, they invited the girls to ride Oreo, the horse and groom the ponies, Sailor and Joe.
