Today we went to a Corn Maze. It was really neat. I have not been in one like this before. This farm has been doing it for 11 year and they have had some amazing designs. The girls had fun running around and trying to find their way to all the clues and the finish line. They got see baby bunnies, ducklings, goats, etc. They even had a corn box instead of a sand box. A few hours to keep us occupied was great and there was a bit of a breeze so we were not too hot. The picture with the two girls in the corn maze is in the middle of the maple leaf that you can see in the aerial shot of the maze

Water Fun Week
This week the girls were rarely dry. We went to the water slides for the afternoon early in the week. The girls are still too little for some but had fun on what they were able to go on. Vanessa couldn't stop smiling and Heather impressed us with her courage and independence to do the slides on her own. We went to the local spray park the next day with friends from school and Heather and Vanessa had a great time getting wet on a really hot day. On Friday, the girls wrapped up their second 2 week set of swimming. Heather still did not advance but I noticed a big improvement and she can swim well enough on her own: I will not have to worry so much. Vanessa had a big crush on her teacher and I think he liked her a lot too. So much that he accidentally passed her into the next level. I had to go talk to him because I knew there was no way that she could do all that she was suppose to. He said that when he was doing the report cards, he had in his mind that she was much better than she was. He was going to talk to me about but I got to him first. He was afraid that I would have been mad that he made the mistake but I assured him that I didn't care if she passed or not as long as she was learning to swim. I think we will take a break from swimming lessons for a while now. Imade the pictures a little smaller again but if you click on them, they enlarge.

Ichiro Suzuki Trademark pose
Todd and I went to Seattle for a game on Friday. The yankees beat the Mariners in the ninth but it was a good game. Derek Jeter was friendly to the fans and we watched Johnny "Captain Caveman" Damon during his batting practice. Ichiro Suzuki played well. He has this whole routine before he sets up to bat that he does everytime. It is his trademark. We met up with Cousin Rita and her girls at the stadium just to say hi. We finally had to breakdown and buy some garlic fries. There smelled so good throughout the park. They tasted good too. What ever happened to hotdogs, peanuts and popcorn?
More visits
Cousins Rita, Alissa and Cassandra came from Calgary on their way to Seattleand stopped by to have dinner at Audrey's. Uncle Jack joined them as well. We all had a good visit and found out that Rita and her girls had tickets to the same Mariner's baseball game as we did in Seattle. Good Dinner Audrey! Delanie, Emma and Heather were making silly faces for the camera. Good blackmail for the future.

Early Harvest?
Well Vanessa is so excited at my discovery in the garden today. It is so hot that the garden just doesn't know what to do. We have a pumpkin that has already ripened. Vanessa absolutely loves pumpkins so she was so thrilled to see it. She treats it like her friend and is currently sleeping with it. She did have him in his own bed but I see she is snuggling with him right now.
August Long Weekend
I headed up north to visit Auntie Vi and Leo. Todd stayed home with the girls and took them to the beach and the local country fair. The girls went to beach on Saturday and it was very busy with some kind of festival going on. The girls just wanted to collect shells and make sand castles. At the fair, the girls got to see the RCMP Musical ride and collected all of their bio cards on the horses and their riders. They saw the animals, practiced milking and of course went on the rides.
On my way home from Vi and Leo's, there was a forest fire that had just started on left side mountain of the highway. It has now grown to over 2000 hectares and is completely out of control at this point in time. It looked like a volcano erupting the way the smoke and ash were billowing so quicky into the sky.
